Let's know about the requirements in detail.

1. Prepare a handicraft , preferably for a disabled child in the locality.

The cubs and bulbuls have to prepare a handicraft which can be used by a differently abled child. The handicraft should be useful for the differently abled children.

For example :

  • Paper birds can be used for amusement.
  • Braille script can be used for study.
  • A stick with a bell can be used for walking.
  • Different shapes can be prepared for learning mathematical concepts. Etc.

2. Know the eight principal points of a compass.

The compass is a little dial like a watch, but it has only one hand on it and that hand always points to the north.

If you face the same way as the hand points you are looking north and if you then turn about and look exactly the other way you are facing the south. South is exactly opposite to north and east is exactly opposite to west.

That gives the four points of the compass : North , South, East and West.

Then half way between each of the four main points there are four others, which are easily remembered:

N.E, S.E, S.W and N.W.

N.E - North-East, S.E - South-East, S.W - South-West , N.W- North-West

3. Satisfy the Cubmaster or Flock Leader about your knowledge of your district in particular and languages , dress of people of your state.

The Cubs and Bulbuls should have a knowledge about the district where they reside. They should know the mother tongue along with the languages spoken in the state which they belong to. They should also require the knowledge of the clothes or dress the state people wear. This helps the children to have knowledge about the traditions and culture of their own state.
For example :
The name of the District of the students studying in Kendriya Vidyalaya Koraput is Koraput
The state is Odisha.
The main language ( Mother tongue ) spoken in Odisha is Odia

The dress people wear in Odisha is Dhoti and Kurta ( Gents ) and Saree ( Ladies )

Different states have unique culture of their own. Students should know this.

4. Render First-aid for sprains, strings and be able to clean a wound.

First aid is the first and immediate assistance given to any person suffering from either a minor or serious illness or injury, with care provided to preserve life, prevent the condition from worsening, or to promote recovery.

Sprains:

A sprain is the overstretching and partial leaning of ligament at a point.

a common example of a sprain is when the foot suddenly turns in on uneven ground, spraining the ankle.

First Aid:

  • Soak a thick or folded cloth in cold water.
  • Take the damp cloth and place it round the sprained joint.
  • Renew the compress when it dries or becomes warm.
  • Keep the affected limb elevated if possible.

Similarly get knowledge about the first aid for stings and know how to clean a wound.

5. Participate at least two prayer meetings during the Pack Programme or Flock Programme.

A cub or Bulbul has to participate in two prayer meetings. These meetings are organised by Cubmaster or Flock Leader during the classes allotted for cubs and bulbuls activities in primary classes. Special prayer meetings are organised occasionally. These are often termed as "All Faith Prayers". A cub or Bulbul should attend two such meetings.
